Vanity guide
What works, what doesn’t, and what makes a search take longer.
Characters you can use
Solana mint addresses use Base58. These characters cannot appear:
0OIlThat is zero, uppercase O, uppercase I and lowercase L. Spaces, punctuation and emoji are also invalid in a mint address.
Uppercase L, lowercase o and lowercase i are valid. Community and token names can use other characters; these rules apply to the vanity address.
All allowed characters
123456789ABCDEFGHJKLMNPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefghijkmnopqrstuvwxyzBeginning, ending, or both
Both fields are optional individually. Enter at least one. Vanity currently accepts up to 8 characters per end; this is an app limit.
Both ends add to the difficulty. cat…dog matches 6 custom characters.
Exact capitalization is slower. Ignoring case accepts valid upper/lowercase variants, but excluded characters never become valid.
Some beginnings are harder to find than others, so their wait times are less predictable.
A short ending is the most predictable place to start.
Why longer vanities take longer
We generate addresses until one matches your chosen pattern. Every extra exact character makes a match roughly 58× harder to find. Short patterns and flexible capitalization are usually faster.
| Exact suffix length | Estimated wait |
|---|
These are approximate wait times, not deadlines. A match can appear earlier or later. Long patterns can take days, months or longer; custom beginnings are less predictable.
Community requirements
Communities can have open pairing or require a specific token mint. Required-pair communities must use that pair; open communities let members choose any eligible token.
A funded, generated and reserved mint is required before claiming a sponsored address. Draft communities cannot provide free addresses yet.
Some tokens cannot be used as quote assets. Pump token quote eligibility depends on live chain rules, allowed nesting depth and migration status. We check it when reviewing your setup.
The current free-vanity model leaves token creation and network costs with the member.
